Guests can step into the relaxed ambience of the lodge with its lush indigenous garden dappled in shade, lounges with internet facilities, bar, enormous sparkling pool and thatched dining areas punctuated with original South African art.
Traversing over 9,000 hectares of supreme and diverse vegetation in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve, with its three perennial rivers and huge Jackelberry and Leadwood trees, Shiduli is home to the Big 5, as well as a wealth of other smaller creatures and bird species.
The twenty four intimate air-conditioned en-suite rooms have huge romantic beds with white linen and flowing mosquito nets under the canopy of a thatch roof. The bathrooms have glass enclosed showers with double wash basins. Suites are fully equipped with mini bar fridges, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, hair dryers and personal safes.
Morning & afternoon game drives in open game viewing vehicles offer great opportunities to view wildlife, which includes the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant) as well as a wealth of other creatures. Enjoy a sundowner while the sun sets over the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains and take in a spot of birdwatching, with over 365 different bird species in the region. Game drives are conducted by qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers. You might even spot a cheetah on foot!
