Cape Town – Oudtshoorn – Knysna – Sanbona Safari – Cape Town
Day 1 – Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
As per the tour above, we depart Cape Town and head straight onto the Garden Route. We travel along the scenic Route 62 to Oudtshoorn, stopping along the way in the quaint and historic little towns for refreshments and lunch. Oudtshoorn is world renowned for its ostrich farms, so we stop in the afternoon to visit one of these farms and interact with these amazing creatures, feeding them by hand, or watching an ostrich derby, before arriving at the Rosenhof Boutique Hotel which is your accommodation for the night.
Day 2 – Oudtshoorn to Knysna
After breakfast we start our day with a visit to the Cango Caves, a spectacular underground wonder where you will find the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations. We then start our journey to Knysna, arriving at lunch time. We spend the afternoon exploring this pretty coastal town itself and you enjoy a 1 ½ hour catamaran cruise on the Knysna Lagoon and witness the giant sandstone cliffs dominating the entrance to the Indian Ocean and known as the ‘Knysna Heads’. At the end of the day you stay at the luxury boutique Kanonkop Guest House, overlooking the Knysna lagoon.
Day 3 – Knysna and Surrounds
We spend our third day together exploring this beautiful area. After breakfast we head towards Plettenberg Bay and you have the choice to visit either an Elephant Sanctuary to walk hand-to-trunk with these magnificent creatures, a Primate Sanctuary or you can Bungee Jump off the world’s highest commercial bungy bridge at Bloukrans, the choice is yours. We then spend the afternoon in the Tsitsikamma National Park, where we can take in the beauty of the area or do some hiking or kayaking. We return to your hotel in Knysna for the night.
Day 4 – Knysna to Sanbona Private Game Reserve
You travel in the morning to Sanbona Private Game Reserve, arriving for lunch and check-in to your luxury Dwyka Tented Lodge suite. You have a late afternoon 3-hour Game Drive with your Game Ranger for your first safari experience before returning to the lodge to freshen up and take a dip in your private plunge pool before dinner.
Day 5 – Sanbona Private Game Reserve to Cape Town
You are up early as the sun rises for your second Game Drive with your Game Ranger for 3-hours, before arriving back at the lodge for breakfast, check-out and transfer to the Welcome Lounge where we are waiting to bring you back to Cape Town, arriving late afternoon.
Rates from R50,395 per person based on minimum two guests. All experiences and accommodation included, meaning only your meals are extra (breakfast included in hotels and all meals & local drinks included when at Sanbona Private Game Reserve).
This tour can also include extra nights on safari at Sanbona Private Game Reserve (we ideally recommend 2-3 nights on safari) before returning to Cape Town.
